Growth Mindset

My son suffers from dyslexia and dysgraphia. His handwriting is very poor. So poor it is illegible. School is hard for him and contributes to his anxiety.

This morning my wife mentioned to him that she is going to look for an app or utility to assist in improving his handwriting. He was disappointed to hear this and stated, “my handwriting is horrible and it will always hold me back.”

I told him, “that is a fixed mindset…”

He finished the rest of my sentence for me.

“Ya, ya, ya, dad. I need to have a growth mindset.”
